Wow! This is beautiful, I absolutely love it... ~ Suzanne
Raina Bentley

Born and raised in the great state of Texas, this Southern Gal has never
let a moment of creativity go to waste. Early on in childhood she worked
on ceramics. Not your typical "whacking" the seams and painting the
pieces, she added detail. For those of you who may not know, the more
you use molds the more detail is removed. So, in the cleaning phase she
would take her knife and add some detail back and bring the piece to
life. Eventually this was no longer challenging enough and thus she
began changing the form of the pieces. A vase was no longer just a vase,
but a beautiful torn work of art. With artistic airbrushing and gold
delicately dancing down the "torn" area of the vase, it was a sight to
see. As she matured, so did her skills. From ceramics she moved on to
drawing and painting cartoon characters, inanimate objects, living
creatures, humans and full nature scenes. Let's not forget the countless
years she wrote poetry and stories, which almost yielded her a published
book.
But she is not a creative
miracle, she learned to explore and challenge her creative side from her
mother. A lady who, owned her own porcelain doll business, taught
classes and won countless awards for her dolls. Her creative verse she
learned early on from her father. A gentleman who, while fighting in the
Vietnam war created a beautiful song lyric about a woman who waits for a
soldier to return from battle. It will bring a tear to your eyes every
time.
From arts and crafts she
created her first business with herbs and herbal recipes for candles and
bath and body products. All the while making sure her bath and body
products only used natural ingredients, no chemicals. She believed if
she only used herbs with other natural ingredients it would be healthier
for the person and more beneficial. But while this business was fun, it
was no longer challenging. It was back to the drawing board. She has
dabbled in jewelry making when she was a child, a bracelet here, a pair
of earrings there but not enough to really catch on. One day, while in a
bead store with her mother, she clicked to all of the possibilities a
few beads can yield and thus began Sand & Stone Designer Jewelry.
In keeping with her high standards of producing top quality products you
will only find gemstone beads, Swarovski Crystals, high quality leather
and Sterling Silver or Gold Filled metals. Each piece is a delicate work
of art and handcrafted just for you.
